Gulf International Bank (GIB) Transforms Banking Operations with Oracle FLEXCUBE Implementation

Gulf International Bank (GIB), a leading financial institution in the Middle East, has successfully implemented the Oracle FLEXCUBE Universal Banking System 11.4 to modernize its banking operations and enhance customer experience. Prior to the implementation of Oracle FLEXCUBE, GIB faced several critical challenges wherein there were Legacy Systems Limitations. The existing core banking system was outdated and lacked scalability. We also had some operational Inefficiencies. Manual workflows led to delays and higher operational costs. Older systems hindered the delivery of seamless digital banking experiences. Increasingly complex compliance standards posed significant challenges. We posed some difficulties in integrating with modern applications with limited innovation. 

The primary objectives of the project included: 

  • Implementing a robust core banking solution to support GIB’s digital transformation. 
  • Enhancing payment processing capabilities through integration with GTX and TMSX systems. 
  • Ensuring VAT compliance across KSA, Bahrain, and UAE. 

The Oracle FLEXCUBE system was chosen for its comprehensive functionality, integration capabilities, and support for digital banking initiatives. Key features implemented include: 

  • Integration of international and regional payment modules. 
  • Development of an e-Cheque system. 
  • Launch of the Meem Digital Banking Store for retail customers. 

Since the implementation of Oracle FLEXCUBE, GIB has achieved remarkable results:
